Biography

Panic Bomber is a new breed of dance floor innovator for 2009 who is quickly attracting worldwide attention and praise. Panic Bomber is the brainchild of Richard Haig, a Miami-based musician who grew up trained in classical piano, graduated with a degree in Music Engineering Technology from the University of Miami, and cut his live music chops singing and playing (keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion, banjo, etc.) in a variety of local indie rock and punk bands.

Panic Bomber's breakout track "Smooth Sailor" is featured in the February 2009 issue and sampler of Trax, France's biggest electronic music magazine. Popular music blog Off the Radar says of him, "I was mightily impressed! Great to hear good dance music coming from our lovely city," while The Miami NewTimes' music editor pleads, "we beg you Haig, don't ever move from behind the DJ booth, because you're everything we love about electronic music."

Panic Bomber's engaging performances consist of live vocals, keyboards, interactive video, and a custom-built light suit which transforms him into a glowing stick figure complete with a pulsating bomb-heart. The music is instantly appealing, familiar to electronic music enthusiasts yet difficult to place in any one genre, incorporating elements of electro, tech-house, trance, pop, rock, IDM, or whatever else a particular piece calls for. Haig's comprehensive musical background gives his work a depth which is rare in the current click-to-create musical climate. Panic Bomber is electronic music truly composed for the dancefloor.
